Active compound on the bark of faloak is flavonoid, an alkaloid, saponin, steroids and triterpenoid. Flavonoid known as active compound is the most potent to catch free radicals who have detrimental effects on cells. The Kupang community in East Nusa Tenggara uses faloak bark by boiling until red brick color and then drinking it. The way this preparation has disadvantages is that people must always prepare if needed. Taking faloak bark continuously to worry can cause extinction. Instant preparation is one of the methods offered so that people can use Faloak at any time if needed, practical and can be stored for a long time. Objective: To determine the antioxidant strength of instant faloak based on IC50 value.  Method: The sample was taken by taking the skin of the faloaktree that was not too old. The skin of the faloak tree was extracted by decok method by using water to obtain Faloak extract. The Faloak extract was then recrystallized to become an instant faloak drink. The instant faloak powder obtained from the recrystallization was then tested for moisture content and continued with the qualitative identification of the active compounds in the instant faloak. The instant faloak was then tested against DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) as free radicals and measured at a wavelength of 517.4 nm using UV-vis spectrophotometer. Result: The results showed that instant faloak had very weak antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 2.307,77 ppm ± 58,20 ppm or 2.249,57 ppm until 2.365,97 ppm. Conclusion: Extraction modification is needed to increase the antioxidant potential at instant faloak. ER -
