Effect of Play Therapy Coloring Against Anxiety and Cooperative Behavior in Children in Orchid Rooms Umbu Rara Hospital Meha Waingapu

Abstract

Background: Health is one of the main priority issues. Children treated in hospitals often experience anxiety and uncooperative behavior. Play therapy can be used as a solution but has not been widely used in some hospitals, because it is constrained by one thing or another.
The Purpose: This study aims to describe children's anxiety, cooperative behavior of children analyzing their relationship with therapeutic intervention playing in the Orchid Room of Umbu Rara Hospital Meha Waingapu. Research Design: using the pre-experimental method with this type of research is quantitative, with a pre-experimental design with approaches only group pre and post-test design. This research was conducted in June - July 2018 in the Orchid Room of Umbu Rara Hospital Meha Waingapu. The sampling technique used in this study was accidental sampling in patients treated during this period. The instrument used is a questionnaire sheet developed by Spence Children'sAnxiety Scale (SCAS) school and cooperative child behavior. The results are tested by T-Test. Results: The level of anxiety before the intervention was the midwife was 19 respondents and severe anxiety 8 respondents, while the anxiety after an intervention was 7 did not experience anxiety and 22 respondents experienced mild anxiety, moderate anxiety 1 respondent and severe anxiety became 0 respondents. Cooperative behavior before the intervention was less cooperative 16 respondents (53.3%), quite cooperative as many as 11 people (36.7%) and after the intervention cooperative behavior increased to 12 people (40%). The test results Wilcoxon found that Asymp. Sig (2 tailed) was valued at 0,000 which means that there was an effect of playing therapy on the anxiety and cooperative behavior of children in the Orchid room at Umbu Rara Hospital Meha Waingapu. Conclusion: there is the influence of play therapy coloring on anxiety and cooperative behavior of children in the Orchid room at Umbu Rara Hospital Meha Waingapu.
