Students Satisfaction Rate Toward Practice Learning Dental And Oral Disease Prevention In Education Laboratory Of Dental Nursing Department, Health Polytechnic of Kupang

Abstract

Background: Customer satisfaction denotes the level of customer content toward the given service, compared to their expectations. Purpose: This study aimed to examine factors that affect the students’ satisfaction toward practice learning of dental and oral health prevention in the education laboratory of the dental nursing department, Polytechnic Health Ministry, Kupang. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted by means of a survey of 50 students. The measured dependent variables were tangible, reliability, assurance, responsive, and empathy with the scoring system referred to the Likert scale. Results: While the independent variables were the students’ satisfaction, which was measured by means of semantic differential. Each questionnaire was valid (correlation score ≥ 0.30) and reliable (Cronbach alpha ≥ 0.70). Multiple regression analysis revealed that reliability(p=0.382), assurance (p=0.984), responsiveness (p=0.421) had no impact toward students’ satisfaction. Tangible (p=0.000) and empathy (p=0.000) was significantly correlated to students’ satisfaction as much as 57.1% (R2= 0,571), and empathy had the highest effect toward satisfaction, as much as 44.35% (r2=0,666). Conclusion: (1) the better tangibility and empathy, the higher students’ satisfaction rate; (2) Reliability, assurance, and responsiveness had no effect toward students’ satisfaction rate; (3) the students’ satisfaction toward practice learning of dental and oral disease prevention in education laboratory of dental nursing department, Polytechnic Health Ministry, Kupang is highly affected by empathy.
